On the Via Appia Antica . . .

I was promised a walk on the Appian Way.
It stared off great.  I was off the leash and loving life.

But, then, of course, mommy and grandma wanted to stop for some wine and lunch.

We found a nice place, though.
Everyone liked me, and somebody asked me if I wanted a steak.

Grandma gave me a piece of mozzarella,
and mommy let me eat a clam!
Yum.

I wanted another clam.

Then, we walked and walked.
It was so pretty.

Grandma and I spied on the rich and famous.

What a beautiful place!

Mommy said she had been here before.

I'm so happy she brought me, too.

Veni, Vidi, Vici.

The Temple of Miri.

It was inevitable.

We walked in the Borghese gardens.

It's a really big park,
just for me!

I saw ponies!
(And I barked at them.)

I'm such a hit here in Rome
that I can't even cross the street without people stopping to adore me.
See?

Atop the Spanish steps.

How many puppies get to visit Rome?
I'm such a lucky girl.

The Real Reason We're Here . . .

The food and drink!

We found an amazing restaurant near our hotel.
Mommy and grandma think the food is great.

And they all love me!

I snagged a piece of white truffle from their pasta.

Yum yum.

I'm so glad I got to come to Rome.

Thank you, grandma!

A Toast to Mum Mum!

Yesterday was Mum Mum's birthday.
She's 80-Plus!

We had a champagne toast to the best
mom/grandma/great-grandma ever.

We called her to wish her a happy birthday from all of us.

Seeing the Sights . . .

We went sightseeing.

First, the Colosseum.

Impressive.

The arch of Constantine.
Next, we walked through the Roman Forum,
where I pooped along side the oldest Roman road.
Whoops.

We took a cab to Piazza Navona to have lunch and people watch.

I played with a little dog.

We got a lot of attention.
People couldn't help themselves.

River view.

I could barely keep my eyes open on the way back to the hotel.
We walked so much!
